 The constantly growing challenges in provider management usually express themselves in companies like this: The IT department is outraged that the service providers 'don't deliver' and would prefer to terminate the contracts with them. 'They don't do what we want', they often say. And: 'The different providers are constantly pushing problems onto each other.' IT managers often complain about a cost explosion because special services are charged regularly.

Such difficulties are not generally due to the unwillingness of individual providers. They rather lie in the system, because the provider landscape becomes more and more heterogeneous and confusing: With the large areas of data centre, workplace, network, applications, and cloud, companies quickly come up with more than ten service providers in so-called multisourcing. The corresponding outsourcing contracts are often 2,000 to 3,000 pages long. In addition, there are also connections and dependencies between the individual contracts. This makes it even more difficult to manage, coordinate and control a company's IT service providers - and the problems and outsourcing risks increase. (...)
